He was born October 28, 1921 at the family ranch in Ellensburg to Emil and Marie Stampfly. Read More	OBIT: Elmer Emil Stampfly passed away at the Kittitas Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, November 19, 2008. He was born October 28, 1921 at the family ranch in Ellensburg to Emil and Marie Stampfly. He received his grade school education at the Lower Naneum School in the Fairview District before graduation from high school in Ellensburg. Elmer and Goldie were married on October 30, 1943. After marriage, they continued their life on the family ranch where they raised cattle and hay for twenty-five years. After leaving ranching, Elmer went to work for Washington State Department of Transportation where he stayed for over fifteen years before retiring. Throughout his life, Elmer was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a lifetime member of the Ellensburg Field and Stream Club. He was also a long time member of Moose Lodge #494 where he and Goldie enjoyed dancing, dining, and sharing times with good friends. Vegetable gardening was another of Elmer's hobbies as well as traveling both in the United States and Europe. One of his favorite trips was to Alaska back in the days when you could really catch BIG fish! Elmer was preceded in death by his infant son, Raymond LeRoy Stampfly, his parents Emil and Marie, and three brothers, Walter, Fritz, and Ernest, and one sister, Margurite Seaton. He was also preceded by Randy Stampfly, Mert's son. Elmer is survived by his wife of 65 years, Goldie. Other relatives include his nephew, Mert Stampfly (Phyllis), and niece Betty Evens (Stan) of Ellensburg, and Allen Seaton (Lucille) of Fall City and Yuma, Arizona. Also close to him were his nieces Carol Yarde (Richard) of Kalispell, Montana, and Darlene Speer (Ron) of Columbia Falls, Montana. He is the great uncle of Scott Stampfly (Kathy Dodge). He will greatly missed by us all! There will be a celebration of his life at Moose Lodge #494 on Monday, December 11, 2008 from 11 to 2 pm at 206 N. Main Street in Ellensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice Friends, 401 E. Mountain View Ave, Ste 3, Ellensburg, WA.. Daily Record (online) November 24 to November 29, 2008
