Description	:	Elmer F. Boyles, 52, of 384 Alice Street died, presumably of a heart attack about 6 PM Thursday while playing golf at the East Palestine Country Club. He was brought to this city by Negley firemen and pronounced dead at a local physician's office. Mr. Boyles, who had been a transfer man with the Metropolitan Brick Co, east of Negley for 30 years had been playing golf with his brother, Harold, and an unidentified player. Boyles, 52, of 384 Alice Street died, presumably of a heart attack about 6 PM Thursday while playing golf at the East Palestine Country Club. He was brought to this city by Negley firemen and pronounced dead at a local physician's office. Mr. Boyles, who had been a transfer man with the Metropolitan Brick Co, east of Negley for 30 years had been playing golf with his brother, Harold, and an unidentified player. The three were on the No. 2 hole when Mr. Boyles was stricken. He was born Nov. 6, 1917 in Lisbon, a son of Frank and Myrtle DeHaven (Haven) Boyles and had lived in this area most of his life. He served with the U.S. Army in Europe in World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Besides his wife, the former Olive B. Shearer, whom he married Sept. 17, 1937 and his brother, Harold, he leaves his mother of this city, two sons, Dale W. with the U.S. Navy in Cambodia, Robert J. and two daughters Mrs Margaret Harn and Mrs Nadene Vaughn of Negley and another brother, Donald of this city, a sister, Mrs. Ruth Seidel of this city and nine grandchildren. The Rev. Bruce E Milligan, pastor of the Salem United Presbyterian church will conduct services at 1:30 PM Monday at the Oliver Linsley funeral home where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Sunday.
