Elmer J. Reichwaldt, was born in Milford, Nebraska on January 29, 1943 to Edward Elmer and Goldie Marie (Birky) Reichwaldt, the oldest of three children. He passed away at the age of 76 on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Gateway Vista in Lincoln. As a young boy, Elmer attended Milford Public School and graduated with the class of 1961. In the 1960's as a young man, he was baptized and confirmed in the Wisconsin Synod Lutheran faith in Milford by Rev. Fry. Elmer was united in marriage at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Milford to Barbara Kane in May of 1963 and to this union four children were born: Richard, Anthony, Valorie, and Michael. Through the years, Elmer worked various jobs as a construction laborer, as a brick mason and operated backhoes, bobcats and other heavy equipment. Elmer was employed at Jed Construction in Lincoln prior to his retirement. Elmer was a very loving and selfless person, always doing for others before himself. His family was very important to him. Elmer collected coins, stamps, baseball and football cards and loved to fish. He enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles, sometimes more than one at a time. Elmer is survived by his children, Valorie L. Medley, Tony Reichwaldt and Richard Reichwaldt, all of Lincoln, Michael Reichwaldt, Apple Valley, MN, seven grandchildren and spouses, Josh Webb, John Medley, Mathew Stickney, Chelsea and Ryan Evans, Alicia and Jason Vensky, Eric and Nick Reichwaldt, four great grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and John "Jack" Morris, Colorado Springs, CO, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife, Barbara in 2012, and an infant sister, Peggy Jean.
