Davis, 89, of Columbia Falls, died Sunday evening, Sept. 13, at the North Valley Extended Care in Whitefish. He was born Feb. 21, 1909, near Belgrade, to Wilbur and Cecelia Davis. Davis, 89, of Columbia Falls, died Sunday evening, Sept. 13, at the North Valley Extended Care in Whitefish. He was born Feb. 21, 1909, near Belgrade, to Wilbur and Cecelia Davis. He was raised and educated near Belgrade. He married Althea F. Heath on Oct. 31, 1932. They moved to Martinsdale, where they owned and operated the Heath Hotel and Cafe for many years. They moved to Columbia Falls, in 1955. He worked at the aluminum plant for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Althea, on Oct. 15, 1985; and three sisters, Ruth France, Dorothy Chase and Nettie Jackson. He is survived by a son, Elmer E. Davis and his wife, Josie, of Helena; three daughters, Janet Kaschke and her husband, Marvin, of Polson, Sharon Merrifield and her husband, Elden, of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and JoAnn Good and her husband, Doug, of Columbia Falls; 14 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls. The Rev. Ray Davis of the United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls.
