Description	:	Townspeople were saddened to learn of the death of Elmer W. Fletcher, well-known and well-loved life-long resident of Littleton. Mr. Fletcher died on January 6, in San Antonio, Texas, where he had been visiting for the winter. Born in Littleton on May 1, 1863, Mr. Fletcher was in his 88th year at the time of his death. Read More	Townspeople were saddened to learn of the death of Elmer W. Fletcher, well-known and well-loved life-long resident of Littleton. Mr. Fletcher died on January 6, in San Antonio, Texas, where he had been visiting for the winter. Born in Littleton on May 1, 1863, Mr. Fletcher was in his 88th year at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Joseph W. Fletcher and Louisa M. (Daland) Fletcher, and the husband of the late Minnie W. Fletcher. He was a member of the Caleb Butler Lodge of Ayer. The funeral was held Wednesday, January 10, at 2:00 p.m. from the Greig Funeral Home, Main Street, Westford, services being conducted by Rev. Robert B. Dennett, pastor of the Orthodox Congregational Church of Littleton. Bearers were George Wood, John P. Sibley, Langdon Prouty, Alan Fletcher, Richard Anctil and Robert Anctil, all of Littleton. Interment was in the family lot in Westlawn Cemetery where committal prayers were read by Rev. Dennett. The deceased is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Clara F. Nye of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Edith Griffiths of San Francisco, Cal., Mrs. Myrtle F. Houghton of Sarasota, Fla., and Mrs. Hope Anctil of Littleton; two sons, Roland H. Fletcher of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Paul D. Fletcher of Littleton; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. (A copy of Mr. Fletchers obituary can be found at the cemeteries website.)
