Description	:	Elmira's grandfather Gavin and father James M: MCCUNE, GAVIN, was born July 7, 1788, in Pennsylvania, and was taken by his parents in 1796 to Nicholas county, Ky. He was there married to Hannah Ardry, a native of that county. They had six children in Kentucky, and moved to Sangamon county, Ill., arriving in the fall of 1832 in what is now Cooper township. He was captured June 10, 1864, at the battle of Guntown, Miss.; spent nine months in a rebel prison in Alabama, exchanged at Vicksburg, and honorably discharged at the end of the rebellion. He was married Jan., 1870, to Mary E. Frankeberger; have one child, and live near Nashville, Barton county, Mo. HENRY C., born Feb. 3, 1844, married June 7, 1865, to Margaret Thompson, who was born April 26, 1841, in Fairfax county, Va. Olive Cemetery with the Flagg family but she does not have a stone.
