Description	:	Elmo Watson King Elmo Watson "Chuck" King who served his family, friends, fellow man, and communities with great strength and vigor for 96 years is with his Lord and Savior today after passing Wednesday June 30th near his home at Canyon Lake, Texas. Chuck proudly served his country in WWll in the South Pacific aboard the USS Tennessee Naval Battleship. He was preceded in death by the mother of his two children, Mary Catherine Patton, and brothers Norman, L.F., Merlin, Bert, Paul, and sister Vonnie Thornton with his dear sister Holly "Sissy" Bush still residing nearby in their home state of Arkansas. Chuck will be laid to rest beside his granddaughter Traci Swinehart (daughter of Lesa) in his birthplace Lockesburg, Arkansas. Chuck is survived by his best friend and wife, Rosalie King, of 25 years who was holding his hand as they did each night at bedtime and was cheek to cheek in an embrace when her love . Children Gaylin Russell King and Lesa Gale Lyon along with their spouses Diana King and Eric Lyon survive him with Jennifer Loupes and Catherine Bridges daughters of Gaylin and Diana. Many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, stepchildren Mike, Pat and Mary Lynn enjoyed "Papa Chuck" and Grandma Rosie's retired years at Lake Greeson, Arkansas playing on the lake and enjoying the outdoors, learning water sports, boating, fishing, flipping pancakes and eating biscuits and gravy! Elmo Watson "Chuck" King was a kind and gentle man who served teaching Sunday school, as a deacon and on many civic boards. After retiring from the Southern Pacific Railroad, Chuck owned and operated several successful businesses throughout the years which benefitted from his grit, perseverance and tenacity that we all respected. He was a "man's man" in his son's words and early son-in-law PJ Alden concurs and yet a most tender and loving man to daughter Lesa, Rosie, her daughter Mary Lynn and all who have had the pleasure of knowing the treasure of this great man's heart and legacy. "DON'T FORGET TO SAY YOUR PRAYERS", "GOD WILLING", "FORGIVE US WHERE WE FAIL THEE", "LOVE YOU WERY WERY MUCH" and "OH ROS-A-LIE" will resonate in our hearts forever. Graveside funeral services for Mr. King will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2021 in the Lockesburg Cemetery with Pastor Rick Gregory officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
