Born in Liscomb Mills, N.S. on January 11, 1928, he was a son of the late Frederick and Odessa (Tippert) Winters. A loving father and grandfather he is survived by his wife Evelyn; four sons - Roland and Ricky (Frances) both of Bonny River, Paul (Cindy) of Lake Utopia and Mark (Dawn) of St. George; two daughters - Anne Cooke of St. George and Nancy Winters and companion Danny Russell of Pennfield; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers - Roland (Barb) of Pennfield, Leonard of Napanee, Ont., and Russell of Ottawa, Ont., one sister - Verlie Pettigrew (Ernie) of Parrsboro, N.S.; several nieces, nephews and cousins, Red was predeceased by one daughter Martha, two sons Fred and Donald and four grandchildren, Ryan and Lindsay Winters and Stephen and Melissa Poirier. Red as he was known to all his family and friends was a heavy equipment operator by trade. He worked at several construction companies for over 30 years, among those Galbraith and Hatts. Red enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and biking. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, N.B. (755-3533). Service will be held on Monday, August 6th at 2 p.m. from the St. George United Baptist Church. Interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In Red's memory, the family have requested remembrances to a charity of the donors choice. \| Times Globe \| Telegraph Journal \|
