Description	:	CENTRAL CITY - Elna Lorraine Schneiderheinz, 77, of Central City died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Central City, with the Rev. Msgr. Nelson Newman officiating. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Schneiderheinz was born Nov. 24, 1934, in Merrick County to Lyman and Vera (Rallens) Pierce. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel R. "Dan" Schneiderheinz. Survivors of the immediate family include two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Sheryl Schneiderheinz of Grand Island, and Dan and Janelle Schneiderheinz of Central City; and a daughter, Connie Wyman of Laurel, Mont. Also left to cherish her memory are seven grandchildren, Tyson and Fawn Wyman;, Tara Wyman, Katie Kluthe and Brandon, Halie and Jared Osburn, Justin Schneiderheinz and Tucker and Tanner Schneiderheinz; and three great-grandchildren, Karter and Karlie Kluthe and Tycee Wyman. Elna grew up in the Marquette and Central City areas and received her early education in Marquette and graduated from Central City High School. On April 18, 1952, she was united in marriage to Daniel R. "Dan" Schneiderheinz. They made their home in Central City and in the early years of their marriage, Elna worked at Schneiderheinz Market. From 1963 through 1996, Dan served as Merrick County Sheriff and Elna was dispatcher and cook for the sheriff department. They retired in 1996. Dan died on Sept. 26. 2011. Elna was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Central City. She enjoyed cooking and reading; but her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her seven grandchildren. Elna was also preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Lloyd Pierce. Published in The Grand Island Independent on October 9, 2012
