Walther, 83 of Waverly, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 in the emergency room at the Waverly Health Center in Waverly, Iowa. Elnore was born on February 14, 1924, the daughter of Perry and Daisy (Shipp) Wilson. She attended Waverly High School. Following her schooling, she was employed at St. Joseph Hospital in Waverly. On February 15, 1942, she was united in marriage to Robert D. Walther at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waverly, Iowa. The couple made their home with Bob's parents, where they helped on the farm. In 1948, the family moved to their own farm north of Waverly. From 1967 until 1972, she was employed at Wartburg College in food service. In 1968, they retired from farming and moved into Waverly. Elnore became a resident of the Linden Place at Bartels in December of 2006. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waverly; VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Mended Hearts Inc. Survivors are her children, Sandra (Leon "Buzz") Dietz of Waverly, Robert O. (Hatti) Walther of Waverly, Joan (Jerry) Greenlee Sr. of Waverly, Deb (Dennis) Schnadt of Sumner, and Dale (Ann) Walther of Waverly; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Bolton of Waverly, Nellie Smith of Eldora and Mary Ellen (Bob) Smith of Buffalo Creek, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert on July 16, 1992; her twin sister, Lenore Buehrer and 2 brothers, Richard and Gaylen Wilson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 10:30 a,m, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waverly, Iowa with Pastors Joyce Sandberg and Beth Olson officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Waverly. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
