Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Dokken-Nelson Chapel, Bozeman,MT; burial in Meadowview Cemetery, Manhattan. Mrs. Townsand retired as head of the English department in 1970. She received an associate's degree from Graceland College, a bachelor's degree from Central Missouri State University and a master's degree from Montana State University, Bozeman. She was a member of the South Crysler congregation of the RLDS church. Her first husband, James Doig, died in 1940. She was born in Far West, MO and lived in Independence and in Montana before she returned to this area in 1955. She moved to Manhattan in 1982. Survivors include her husband, O. Wendell Townsend of the home, a son James Doig, Independence; four daughters, Beverly Doig, Lake Forest, CA, Margie Worthington and Marilyn Doig of Fort Collins, CO, and Joan Green, Golden, CO; three brothers, Ammon Andes and Wilmer Andes of Indep. Ralph Andes, Raymore in Cass County MO; a sister, Mabel Lois Yorks, Indep.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
