At the age of 11 years, she removed with her parents to Rochester, Minnesota, where she lived for eight years. Here on November 2, 1862, she was joined in marriage to Mr. Burrows Crabbs. Read More	Bayard News July 27, 1899 Page 3 Mrs. Elsie Henrietta Hayner Crabbs was born in Tioga, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, May 22, 1847, and died at Bayard, Iowa, July 19th, 1899, of cancer of the stomach. At the age of 11 years, she removed with her parents to Rochester, Minnesota, where she lived for eight years. Here on November 2, 1862, she was joined in marriage to Mr. Burrows Crabbs. To this union were born children, Arthur L., Francis L. William H. and Harry R., who, with her husband and family cherish the memory the warm-hearted mother and companion. She also leaves her parents, who resided Coon Rapids. Added to these is a great host of friends who revere her memory for she was universally loved. In the fall of 1868 she, with her husband and two children removed from Rochester, Minnesota, to Carroll, Iowa, where they continue to reside until the spring a 1875 when they took up residence at Dow City, remaining there until the fall of 1877 when they removed to Vermillion, South Dakota, where they lived until April 1885, since which time they have lived at Bayard, Iowa. About 9 years ago she United with the Christian church at this plate. She has been a firm believer in her Savior and fully devoted to the progress of his church. The Bible would she loved so well was placed in her casket as a symbol of her unbroken face in the great father of love and life. Her chief endeavour was to live so that when the hour of her death should come, it would be but the beginning of her triumph in the n ever ending life of joy coming to those who seek the city of life. She was a charter member of the Woman's Relief Corps of Bayard, a members of that order attended the funeral in a body and took part in the services. The funeral service was conducted that the Christian church in Bayard, Iowa, July 21, 1899, by G. W. Burch, West Liberty, Iowa, who was her former pastor and a warm personal friend of the family. The internment was at Coon Rapids. She was ready to go and had fought the good fight. May the peace of our God be upon her loved ones, and the blessed crown of her life fall from Jesus is loving hands upon the brow of his servant.
