Description	:	Elsie Frehse was born on September 4, 1911 near Berne, Iowa, the daughter of Hans Claussen and Dora Namanny Claussen. She died on January 27 1987 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 13 days. Elsie grew up near Berne and attended the McAhren school. Read More	Elsie Frehse was born on September 4, 1911 near Berne, Iowa, the daughter of Hans Claussen and Dora Namanny Claussen. She died on January 27 1987 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 13 days. Elsie grew up near Berne and attended the McAhren school. On June 8. 1930 she was united in marriage to Hugo Frehse of Denison at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison with Rev. William Freese officiating. To this union one son was born. After their marriage Hugo and Elsie moved to Denison into the house she lived in until July of 1985 when she entered Eventide Lutheran Home for the Aged following a stroke. She was a devoted wife and mother and was the bookkeeper for the family business. Elsie was baptized and later confirmed on March 28, 1926 at the Zion Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Zion Ladies Aid since 1931. In addition to her parents Elsie was preceded in death by one sister Hilda (Mrs. Merle) Lindstrom and one brother Henry Claussen. Survivors include her husband Hugo, her son Harold and his wife Una Bell Frehse, three grandchildren, Jeffery and his wife Deborah Frehse, Craig and his wife Tamie Frehse and Candace Frehse all of Denison. Four great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Ryan Frehse and Gerrett and Danielle Frehse, one brother Pete Claussen of Denison, two sisters, Marie and her husband Lawrence Bettin of Lake View, Emma and her husband Henry Hausman of Odebolt and one sister-in-law Mrs. Ione Claussen of Denison, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 29, 1987 at the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Donald Fraker officiating. Burial was in the Crawford Heights Memory Gardens, The Garden Of Gethsemane. Mrs. Fred Rabe served as organist for Congregational singing of "What A Friend We Have. In Jesus", "Abide With Me" and "How Great Thou" Art". Serving as pallbearers were Charles Bettin, Darold Lindstrom, Scott Claussen. Jerry Frehse, and Gene Frehse. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of the Huebner Funeral Home of Denison.
