Description	:	Elsie M. Wessel, 90, of Hiawatha, died Wednesday afternoon, July 25, 2007,, at Oak Ridge Acres in Hiawatha where she had been a resident for over 3 years. Elsie was born at Baileyville, February 16, 1917, one of seven children of Frank Wesley and Annie Sophia Cragg Richmond and had lived most of her life in the Soldier-Goff communities. She grew up at Soldier and attended schools there. Elsie was a homemaker and also worked a number of years at the Goff Liquor Store. She later owned and operated the store from 1989 until 1993. She married Vernon... Read More	Elsie M. Wessel, 90, of Hiawatha, died Wednesday afternoon, July 25, 2007,, at Oak Ridge Acres in Hiawatha where she had been a resident for over 3 years. Elsie was born at Baileyville, February 16, 1917, one of seven children of Frank Wesley and Annie Sophia Cragg Richmond and had lived most of her life in the Soldier-Goff communities. She grew up at Soldier and attended schools there. Elsie was a homemaker and also worked a number of years at the Goff Liquor Store. She later owned and operated the store from 1989 until 1993. She married Vernon Brock who died in 1974. She married Clyde Savage who died in 1990. She married Henry Wessel in 1993 and they made their home in Hiawatha since. He died in 2002. Elsie was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include nine step-children; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren with many nephews and nieces. Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha. Chaplain Don Goatley, of NEK Hospice, will officiate. Burial will be at the Wetmore Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to services.
