Read More	Atlantic News Telegraph July 20, 1925 Page 5 LOCAL LADY PASSES Miss Elsie Baker Dies at Home of Mother Miss Elsie Mae Baker, well known local lady and long time Cass county and Atlantic resident, passed away at the home of her mother, Mrs. J. S. Baker, 205 Locust street, yesterday morning at 9:50. Miss Baker has been in failing health for a number of years and has been invalided for the past three years and these are given as the causes leading up to her death. She was born near Atlantic August 30, 1883, being almost 42 years of age at the time of her death. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the local M. E. church, of which the deceased was a member, with Rev. M. A. Gable officiating. Burial will be at the Massena township cemetery. Atlantic News Telegraph July 23, 1925 Page 3 OBITUARY Elsie Mae Baker was born near Atlantic August 30, 1883 and lived most of her life with her parents on the home farm north of Massena. The father, the late J. S. Baker, passed to his reward January 26, 1912, and some time after that the mother moved to Atlantic, where they have made their home for about seven years. Miss Baker was always in frail health and for some years had been unable to mingle with society. About three months ago she became bedfast and gradually grew weaker until the end came and she could go home to God. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Pine Grove when but a child and was always devoted and faithful to her obligations as a Christian. Through a long and painful illness she was never heard to complain and her Christian fortitude and patience were a marvel to her family and friends. Besides the mother, Mrs. J. S. Baker, she leaves to mourn her passing two brothers and one sister, one brother having died in infancy. One brother, H. L. Baker, lives at Massena, and the other, Roy A. Baker, at Griswold. The sister, Mrs. Earl Grimes, resides at Loveland, Colorado. The last named was at the bedside of her sister for a long visit this spring and on account of the distance was not here for the funeral. She passed quietly away Sunday morning at about ten o'clock and her suffering was over for her Saviour took her home where pain and suffering are no more.
