Elsie (Stephens) was born April 22, 1888 in Tulare, SD, the daughter of Charles & Willette (Harrison) Stephens. She spent most of her life in that vicinity. Read More	Mrs. Art Price, 71, Lead, SD, died February 11, 1960 in a Deadwood hospital. Elsie (Stephens) was born April 22, 1888 in Tulare, SD, the daughter of Charles & Willette (Harrison) Stephens. She spent most of her life in that vicinity. Her parents moved to Rich Hill, Missouri in 1891 and returned to Tulare, SD in 1899, where Elsie attended school. She later worked two years in the Foglesong-Wieting General Store. She then moved with her folks to Belle Fourche in Butte County where she lived until she married. She married T. Arthur Price, son of William P. and Angeline (Belknap) Price, in Butte Co., SD on February 21, 1912. (obit had "1911", but "1912" in SD Marriages). Arthur and Elsie farmed in rural Spink County until moving into Tulare in 1922. They moved to Lead in 1958. (obit stated 1957, but the following item was published Oct 19, 1958 in the Huronite & Daily Plainsman newspaper): At a farewell party for Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Price at Tulare, the centerpiece was most unusual for the time of year- a bowl of lilacs. But with the kind of weather we have been having, nothing is unusual. The lilacs were from the yard of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Fox. The Prices are moving to Lead, and the Oxford Bible Class entertained at a potluck dinner and presented them a gift. Elsie was a member of the Tulare Methodist Church until she transferred to the Methodist Church at Lead. She taught Sunday School many years and was a former member of the WSCS. Survivors include her husband, Art, Lead; three sons, Harold, in Oklahoma; Earl, in California; Charles, in Washington; one daughter, Doris, Mrs. Robert Haag, Lead; two brothers, Charles Stephens, Tulare; William Stephens, Belle Fourche; four sister, Mrs. Gertie Kile, Lemmon; Mrs. Marion Rue, Montana; Mrs. Ethel Wieting,, Tulare; Mrs. Daisy Wall, California, and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Irwin. ---- Funeral: Tulare Methodist Church Officiate: Rev. John Steele. Burial: Tulare Cemetery.
