Beard Mrs. Elsie Virginia Beard, 94, the oldest resident of Williamsport up to the time of her death, died on Sunday afternoon at the Williamsport Sanitarium following a long illness where she had been a guest for the past eight years. She was born and raised in Williamsport, daughter of the late Martin Van Buren and Emily C. (Snyder) Harsh. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was the widow of John B. Beard who died several years ago. She was a life-long member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsport. She was a member of the Missionary Society, Home Department of the Sunday School and the Dime Society. She is survived by two sons, William M. Beard, Westfield, N.J., and I. Gaver Beard, Williamsport; also two grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev W. C. Huddle officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williamsport. Friends may call at the Leaf funeral home, Williamsport this evening from 7 until 9 o'clock and at the church on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until time of service. ---------------------------------------------------
