Nichols were held at Stevens' Funeral Home, Salem Thursday March 11 at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Bessie Collins, officiating. Songs, "God Understands," and "One Moment in Heaven" were sung by Mrs. Dorothy Payne accompanied by Mrs. Florence Nicholson. Interment was in the Cedar Creek Friends Cemetery, northwest of Salem. Nichols, daughter of Cyrus and Eunice Ann Mills Frazier, was born June 17, 1864 in Henry County, Iowa and departed this life March 9, 1948 being nearly 84 years of age. She was the last member of her fathers' family. When she was thirteen, her parents moved to Kansas with a covered wagon and returned the following year, otherwise her entire life was spent in Henry County. She was united in marriage with Charles M. Nichols about 1884. To this union 4 daughters were born. Two preceded her in death. Her husband also passed away on May 17, 1942. There remains to mourn her passing two daughters, Mrs. Lydia Yargus of Salem and Mrs. Jeffa (should be Zeffa) Billingsley of Hillsboro, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren." Kent D.
