Description	:	Elva C. Davis, daughter of John J. and Cynthia Davis, was born in Marshall County, Ind., on August 29, 1890. She peacefully passed away at Trinidad, Colorado, on March 14, 1914 at the early age of 28 years, 6 months and 15 days. In the fall of 1897 she came with her parents from Florida to Swayzee, where she grew to womanhood and where she attended school and in which place she created strong and enduring friendships among both young and old. In May 1911 she was attacked with a harassing... Read More	Elva C. Davis, daughter of John J. and Cynthia Davis, was born in Marshall County, Ind., on August 29, 1890. She peacefully passed away at Trinidad, Colorado, on March 14, 1914 at the early age of 28 years, 6 months and 15 days. In the fall of 1897 she came with her parents from Florida to Swayzee, where she grew to womanhood and where she attended school and in which place she created strong and enduring friendships among both young and old. In May 1911 she was attacked with a harassing affliction, which a few months later was pronounced pulmonary tuberculosis, and in September of that year she and her brave mother went to Trinidad, Colorado, hoping the change of climate would benefit her and restore her health. Remaining at Trinidad at Trinidad fifteen months they then went to Phoenix, Arizona, hoping that the warmer climate would prove beneficial, but after a long and futile fight with the affliction they despaired of climatic benefits and started to return home, via Trinidad, where at the home of her uncle, while trying to rest, she began to grow speedily weaker, and on Saturday, the 14th, her sweet spirit broke the bonds of the frail earthly home and went to be with Jesus, in the beautiful place which was prepared for her in heaven. She leaves to mourn her seeming untimely departure her widowed mother, two brothers, three sisters and a host of loving and admiring friends, who by and through the love of our common Savior hope sometime to meet Elva again where afflictions never come and where parting will be no more. The funeral service was held at the M. E. church on Thursday, March 19, 1914. The body was laid to rest in the Thrailkill cemetery.
