She was born January 30, 1912 in Quincy, a daughter of Charles McKenzie and Maude (Devine) McKenzie. Margaret received her education in the Ellensburg School District. She and Ervan Harrel were married September 4, 1930 in Ellensburg. Margaret worked at the Diamond Store and Twin City Foods. She was born January 30, 1912 in Quincy, a daughter of Charles McKenzie and Maude (Devine) McKenzie. Margaret received her education in the Ellensburg School District. She and Ervan Harrel were married September 4, 1930 in Ellensburg. Margaret worked at the Diamond Store and Twin City Foods. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Teamsters Union Local 760, a past member of Eastern Star and an avid Sonics fan. Margaret enjoyed fishing and traveling to Arizona in the winter. Her family and friends were the highlight of her life. Survivors include her daughters, Marjorie and her husband Ken West of Yuma, Arizona, Jerry and her husband Hugh Bennett of Ellensburg, Irene and her husband App Legg of Leavenworth, and Erva and her husband Steve Hatfield of Ellensburg, eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, two sisters-in-law, Ruth McKenzie and Vi Bass; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents, her husband Ervan, grandson Bob Bennett, brothers George, Max, Elvin and Don McKenzie, sister Eleanor McGrath and her stepfather preceded her in death. Viewing will be held at Steward and Williams Chapel on Thursday, February 25 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 26, at Steward and Williams Chapel, with burial to follow at IOOF Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Margaret's name to American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1115 Ellensburg, the American Heart Association of Washington, 4414 Woodland Park Avenue North, Seattle, 98103, to Alzheimer's Fund, 1422 NW 185th Street, Seattle, 98117-1236 or a charity of your choice.
