Description	:	From the November 26, 1908 Skidmore New Era, page 4, column 4: "Grandma Brummett Dead Mrs. Elvira Brummett died early Monday morning at the home of her daughter's, Mrs. Mary Pfeiffer, three and one half miles south west of town. Her funeral was held in the M. E. Church, South, Tuesday evening, conducted by the pastor, Rev. L. W. Gunby, assisted by Rev. Reuben Barrett of the M. E. Church. She was buried in the Masonic Cemetery. All her children attended the funeral. Her obituary will be published next issue." From the Skidmore, Missouri New Era, December 3, 1908,... From the Skidmore, Missouri New Era, December 3, 1908, page 1, column 1: "Elvira York was born in Anderson county, Tenn., September 13, 1826, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Pfeiffer, three and one-half miles south west of Skidmore, Mo., November 23, 1908, at the age of eighty-two years, two months and ten days. She was married to Banner Brummett on April 20, 1845 and to this union was born eleven children, six of whom have preceded her, with her husband to the grave. There are three sons and two daughters still living. Early in her life at the age of 13 years she was converted and joined the Missionary Baptist church, then later in life united with the Methodist Episcopal Church South, remaining a faithful and devoted member till her death. Her funeral was preached from the Methodist Episcopal Church South, Tuesday November 24, 1908 by her pastor Rev. L. W. Gunby. After which she was laid to rest by the side of her husband in the Masonic cemetery to await the resurrection morning. A good woman from us has gone. Peace be to her ashes."
