Goosman, 70, who died at Schuyler Friday afternoon, Feb. 3, after a heart attack. Rev. Edwin Stander officiated at the services. St. Mary's Church choir provided the music. Burial was at St. Mary's cemetery. Elzie J. Goosman, son of Edward and Ida Davison Goosman, was born May 28, 1896, at St. Mary's. He was married on May 8, 1922, to Julia Kontny at St. Mary's. To this union four children were born. They lived in St. Mary's, Tecumseh and David City during their married life. Mr. Goosman was a member of the Catholic church and the American legion. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He is survived by his wife, Julia; his children, Milton of Deshler, Dorene Way of Imperial, Louise Kovar of David City and Keith of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, Carl of Lincoln; a sister, Mrs. Marcus (Callie) Van Winkle of Lincoln; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one granddaughter. Relatives attending the funeral were from Lincoln, Columbus, Imperial, Tecumseh, Deshler, Hastings, farwell, and Sterling, and Fort Collins, Colo.
