Description	:	Emanuel Kahm, son of John and Mary Kahm, was born in Grafton, April 23, 1874, and died July 18, 1946, at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 25 days. He grew to manhood in the neighborhood of Grafton. On November 27, 1902, he was united in marriage to Miss Josephine Bergstrand of Fairmont. Read More	Emanuel Kahm, son of John and Mary Kahm, was born in Grafton, April 23, 1874, and died July 18, 1946, at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 25 days. He grew to manhood in the neighborhood of Grafton. On November 27, 1902, he was united in marriage to Miss Josephine Bergstrand of Fairmont. The young people made their home in Adams, Nebr., for two years, where Mr. Kahm was engaged in the hardware business, and here their only daughter, Vera, was born. Later they moved to Friend, where Mr. Kahm and his two brothers conducted a garage and automobile business for some years. In 1931 the family moved to York, where Mr. Kahm conducted a watch repair business until he retired a year ago because of ill health. Mr. Kahm was a good citizen and a very capable man in the lines of business in which he engaged. He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, Josephine and daughter, Mrs. M.E. Dilley of Friend; three brothers, John and Henry Kahm of Friend and Jacob of Fort Collins, Colorado. His parents and one sister preceded him in death. The funeral was held at the Metz undertaking chapel in York at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, and the body was interred in the Fairmont cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Elisha H. Jackson of York, assisted by Mrs. Herman Glock, who sang two numbers, accompanied by Mrs. Ralph Hanson, at the piano. The floral tributes were many and beautiful, indicating the esteem in which Mr. Kahm was held by his family and friends.
