Description	:	Emeline Amanda Mead was born in Swotzberg, Wayne, county Michigan, November 17 1831, died February 19, 1913, at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 2 days. In her girlhood she moved with her parents to Fayette county, Iowa, where she married Mr. Ezra P. Mead. Later the family moved to Hall county, Nebraska. In her girlhood she moved with her parents to Fayette county, Iowa, where she married Mr. Ezra P. Mead. Later the family moved to Hall county, Nebraska. Thirty years ago the family located in Stanton township, Nebraska, where they have since resided. Her husband, Rev E. P. Mead passed to that great beyond about seven years ago. Of her immediate family she leaves one son and a daughter namely: G. W. Mead and Mrs. Lettie Walters, both of Clearwater. She was preceded in death by a daughter Mrs Ella McVay. The deceased was a member of the United Brethren church for about fifty years. She was ordained to preach the gospel twenty years ago. The funeral was held on Friday at the Fairview Baptist church, services conducted by Rev. E. H. Hays. Internment was in Fairview cemetery. A peculiar co-incidence was that her brother Mr. Nelson Wilcox, who resided one half mile from the Mead home was called only two days later. Both families were pioneers of Stanton township and are held in highest esteem by all who knew them. These two worthy persons will be sadly missed from the community in which they so long resided and so well assisted in its development.
