Memorial service for Emery Schroeder will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West in Britt with Pastor Stan Johnson officiating. Emery Clinton Schroeder, the son of Henry and Reka (Korte) Schroeder, was born May 20, 1928 on the family farm near Garner. He attended country school in the Garner area. He farmed with his father for a time and later was a mechanic at the Chevrolet Garage in Britt. On August 19, 1950 Emery was united in marriage with RuBee Peterson at the Methodist Church in Britt. He enjoyed farming and working with livestock and in 1951 Emery went back to farming and would continue farming until his retirement in 1971. The couple moved into Britt in 1991. Emery was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Britt. He enjoyed playing the organ and riding his Honda. Emery and RuBee wintered in Texas and Arizona for many years. Emery is survived by his wife of 67 years, RuBee; brother Harlan of Britt; sister-in-law Marty; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Henry, Kathryn (Bill) Pannoff, John (Jeanne), Frank (Grace), Alvin (Lula), Alford, Clarence (Alice), Ray (Betty), Edward, Ruby Walters, infant sister Arlene, and sister-in-law Janet Schroeder.
