Description	:	Emil James Frank, son of Vincent W. and Millicent B. "Millie" (Marshall) Frank was born November 26, 1927. Emil passed away on November 25, 2013, at Alpine Village Retirement Home in Verdigre, Nebraska. Emil was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge and also the Lewis and Clark Rock Club. He attended Pleasant Valley Grade School and Verdigre High School until 10th grade. Emil and his brother, Vincent, donated their time and expertise to air music on Verdigre's main street; they played polkas during the annual Kolach Days festival and Christmas Music during the Christmas holiday season. Emil passed away on November 25, 2013, at Alpine Village Retirement Home in Verdigre, Nebraska. Emil was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge and also the Lewis and Clark Rock Club. He attended Pleasant Valley Grade School and Verdigre High School until 10th grade. Emil and his brother, Vincent, donated their time and expertise to air music on Verdigre's main street; they played polkas during the annual Kolach Days festival and Christmas Music during the Christmas holiday season. Emil and Vincent started flowers in their greenhouse and then gave the plants away, mainly to Alpine Village. They came with their flats of petunias and marigolds and enjoyed sharing with the residents and staff who planted them around the facility. Emil spent his life on the family farm eight miles west of Verdigre, Nebraska until retiring to Alpine Village in September of 2007. He enjoyed simple things; farming, rock hunting, listening to audio books, growing flowers that he shared with others, his dog, and mainly, visiting. Emil and his brother Vincent also liked to travel; special trips were to the Black Hills, Colorado, Los Angeles, and Washington. After Emil became a resident of Alpine Village, he became active in all of their activities. He was remembered for "always winning the spelling contests", for having a good singing voice, for enjoying poetry and reading a lot, and attending any and all church services. Emil believed in the Lord and was always eager to hear about him. Alpine became Emil's home; a home that was special to him. The workers and residents were his family and he truly enjoyed living there. Emil is survived by: nephew, Jerry Frank and his wife Jen of Norfolk, Nebraska; niece, Leona (Frank) Ward and several cousins. Emil was preceded in death by: parents and brothers, Vernon and Vincent Frank. Graveside services was at Jelen Cemetery, west of Verdigre, Nebraska.
