He immigrated to South Dakota in 1908 with his parents. They lived there for a time and then moved to Otter Creek, North Dakota. Read More	Emil and Eleanora Reiner Family Oliver County 1885-1985, pages 891-892 Emil Reiner was born December 11, 1902, in Ukraine, Russia, to Frederick and Emma (Meyer) Reiner. He immigrated to South Dakota in 1908 with his parents. They lived there for a time and then moved to Otter Creek, North Dakota. He received his education at Otter Creek, and was confirmed at St. Paul' s Lutheran Church at Otter Creek. During his teenage years, he worked as a farm laborer for various area farmers, Henry Bargmann being one of these farmers. It was here that Emil met his future wife, Eleanora. Eleanora was born June 18, 1909, to Henry and Emma (Rabe) Bargmann at the family farm. The house has since been moved to Center, and is located west of Ela Baye's. Eleanora received her education at Oliver County schools. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Hannover. Emil and Eleanora were married January 31, 1926, at the St. Peter's parsonage at Hannover. They have six children: Willard, Orlene, Glenn, Marvin, Warren, and Cheryl. Willard was born May 30, 1926, at what is now the Raymond Maier farm. He received his education at Oliver County schools. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Hannover. He lives on the family farm and is in a farming partnership with his brothers; Glenn and Warren. Orlene was born December 10, 1927, at the home of her grandparents, Henry and Emma Bargmann. She received her education in Oliver County schools and was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Hannover. She was married to Ervin Henke on December 29, 1953. They have five children: Lynette, Curtis, Vernon, Eileen, and Marlo. Glenn was born August 9, 1929, at the home of his grandparents, Henry and Emma Bargmann. He received his education in Oliver County schools and was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Hannover. During his teenage years, he worked for several area farmers. He now lives on the family farm and is engaged in farming in partnership with his brothers; Willard and Warren. Marvin was born August 10, 1933, in Mrs. Britton's house in New Salem. He received his elementary education in Oliver County schools and graduated from New Salem High School. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Hannover. He entered the service in the fall of 1953. Marvin and Marlene Jahnke of Bancroft, Nebraska, were married June 29, 1958. She was teaching school at Hannover at the time. They now live at West Point, Nebraska. They have two children, Colleen and Brian. Warren was born February 14, 1943, at New Salem in Mrs. Dettman's house. He received his elementary education in Hannover schools, and graduated from New Salem High School. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Hannover. On December 27, 1966, he married Dolores Opp of Glen Ullin, North Dakota. They have four children: Jeffrey, Rachel, Monica, and Tyrel. They live on what used to be the Ernest Becker farm at Hannover. Cheryl was born August 16, 1948, at Bismarck, North Dakota. She received her elementary education at Hannover schools and graduated from New Salem High School. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Hannover. She is also a graduate of Dickinson State College. She married Clifton Anderson of New England, North Dakota, on July 26, 1969, at Hannover. They now live at Walhalla, North Dakota, and have four children: Chad, Camilla, Cody, and Cullen. Emil and Eleanora were engaged in farming in the Hannover area but he was also a mail carrier. He took care of the Otter Creek route. Emil was elected sheriff of Oliver County in 1940 and held this position until 1952. He was county auditor for Oliver County from 1952 to 1963. He was also a director of the Morton Oliver Insurance Company from December 28, 1946, until his death in 1963. He was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and served as an elder and a member of the building committee, which was responsible for building the present church at Hannover, North Dakota. He was also a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League. Emil passed away September 25, 1963. Eleanor continues to live on the family farm with her sons, Willard and Glenn. She is an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and LWML.
