Parris and the daughter of the late William Jack and Lillie Frisbee Clubb. Mrs. Parris, 89, was born in the Boiling Springs area of Spartanburg County on September 1, 1921. She resided in Boiling Springs and the Rainbow Lake Community throughout her life. Mrs. Parris attended the Boiling Springs First Baptist Church where she had been a member for the past 72 years and was active in the Pastor's Sanctuary Sunday School Class. She attended Boiling Springs High School and graduated from Palmetto Beauty College in Spartanburg, SC. Mrs. Parris worked in the Cosmetology Department of Efird's Department Store in Spartanburg early in her career as a hair-stylist and then operated her own beauty shop for a number of years in the Rainbow Lake area. Aside from being a wonderful cook, she also enjoyed collecting and dealing in antiques for all of her adult life, having operated booths in the Buncombe Antique Mall in Greer. Her passion, however, was the support of her family and her late husband's farming operation. Mrs. Parris was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest pride was her grandchildren. She is survived by sons, Robert Parris, James Wylie Parris of the Rainbow Lake Community; daughter, Paula Parris of Marietta, GA; brother, Sam Clubb; and sister-in-law, Ruby Clubb of Boiling Springs; three granddaughters, Anna Parris of Austin, TX, Beth Parris of the Rainbow Lake Community, and Jill Parris of Charleston. She was predeceased by four brothers, Howard Clubb, Arthur Clubb, Hubert Clubb, Joe Clubb; two sisters, Beatrice Seay and Bertha Seay. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Eggers Funeral Home, Boiling Springs. Funeral services will be follow at 3:00 PM at Eggers Funeral Chapel officiated by Dr. Hank Williams, the Rev. Bobby Lindsey and the Rev. Raymond Shreve. Interment will follow at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, 3600 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
