Description	:	Another of Boone's pioneer settlers and most highly esteemed citizens has answered the last summons and been called to her final long rest. Mrs. Emily McIntosh passed away at the old family homestead, 1417 West Sixth street, at 7:15 o'clock Thursday evening, December 21st, death being due to the encroachment of old age, she being in her eighty ninth year at the time of her demise. Mrs. Emily McIntosh passed away at the old family homestead, 1417 West Sixth street, at 7:15 o'clock Thursday evening, December 21st, death being due to the encroachment of old age, she being in her eighty ninth year at the time of her demise. Emily W. Parker was born in Oldham County, Kentucky, January 25th 1817. When a young girl she removed with her parents to Putnam County, Indiana, where in 1840 she was united in marriage to William McIntosh. To them were born five children, one son, DeWitt C., died in 1869. One son, James McIntosh, of Boone and three daughters, Mary F., and Nancy E., of Boone, and Mrs. Alma Harris of South Auburn, Nebraska, survive her. In 1851 she came with her husband and five children to Boone County where she has since resided, an honored and beloved citizen, and where her children have grown into honored and respected citizens to comfort her declining years. For forty seven years she has lived in the house in which she died. Thus, one by one the pioneers are dropping off and soon the old generation in this county will have passed from the scene of earthly activity to receive the reward of their noble and self-sacrificing labors. Will the new generation honor them as it should, and remember the lessons they have taught and the deeds they have done? The funeral services were held from the late home at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, conducted by the Rev's. E.L. Ely and J.C.
