Description	:	Emily was born in Grafton, New Hampshire as the third child of eight in 1831 of David Taber, of a long established New England family line. She married an orphaned immigrant Scotsman, Andrew McNab in 1852 in Manchester, New Hampshire, where he worked for years at the Amoskeag Printing Company. They had two sons, Allan and Elgin who later became Manchester merchants as the "McNab Brothers" on Elm Street. She married an orphaned immigrant Scotsman, Andrew McNab in 1852 in Manchester, New Hampshire, where he worked for years at the Amoskeag Printing Company. They had two sons, Allan and Elgin who later became Manchester merchants as the "McNab Brothers" on Elm Street. She accompanied her husband in his many tries to establish their family in San Francisco, California . One account says he originally attempted to move to California in 1850 for the Gold Rush and had eventually up to seven tries to make his living in San Francisco. After his death of malaria in 1885, the widowed Emily lived most of her life near or with her sons in San Francisco in the late 1880s and 1890s who by that time, had both owned and rented homes. They were SF Chronicle Newspaper employees at one point. She later followed Allan to Fresno, California just after the turn of the century, when both of her sons left the devastated city (after the 1906 Earthquake and Fire) to farm vineyards.
