NORVELL PASSES AWAY Widow Of Civil War Vet Dies in Springville Late Wednesday Mrs. Emily Pedigo Norvell, whose husband, the late Dr. T. V. Norvell, was one of the guard of honor which accompanied the remains of President Abraham Lincoln from Washington to Springfield, Ill, passed away in Springville Wednesday evening at 8:30 o'clock. She was 91 years of age. Mrs. Norvell had been ill for the past year, and had been bedfast for three months. She resided at the C. C. Giles home. The husband, a veteran of the Civil War, died August 29,1931. A native of this county Mrs. Norvell was born April 17. 1849, to John O. and Jane Gardner Pedigo. She Married Sept. 26, 1867 in Springville. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Pauline Beebe of Cashmere, Wash. Mrs. Jennie A. Moore, Carlisle, Penn., Mrs. Gertrude Vanstickle, Tamms, Ill, Mrs. Tennie Giles of Springville, and Mrs. Aletha Bowman of Norfolk, Neb.; one brother, Thomas W. Pedigo, Turlock, Calif., twenty grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was a member of a Baptist church in Omaha, Neb. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 0' clock from the Springville Methodist church, the Rev. S. E. Stroud of Bedford officiating. Burial will be in Lowder Cemetery near Springville. The remains will lie in state at the Day-Carter & Roach funeral home. Daily Times Mail, Bedford, Indiana Thursday, December 12,1940
