Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo. The Rev. Glen Keylon will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Cairo. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo. Apfel Funeral Home of Cairo is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Poehler was born Nov. 13, 1902, at St. Libory to Herman and Bertha (Tuenge) Kruse. She attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School at Worms. She lived at home and worked and sewed for people until her marriage to Fred Poehler at Zion Lutheran Church at Worms on April 15, 1928. The couple lived on a farm southeast of Cairo. Mr. Poehler died March 17, 1945. She continued to live on the farm until 1964 when she moved to the present home in Cairo. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and Lutheran Womens Missionary League. Survivors include one daughter, Elvera (Mrs. Donald) Rohweder of Wood River; one son, Ray Poehler of Cairo; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Kruse of Westminster, Colo. and Walter and Rinehardt Kruse, both of Grand Island; and one sister, Erna Pohlman of Pocatello, Idaho. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son, John; one daughter, Dorothy; two brothers; and seven sisters.
