She came to the city 14 years before she passed away and established a coaching school. It later became a business college. She graduated fromt he Iowa Teachers College at Cedar Rapids, taught mathematics at the Ackley, Iowa High School, and was principal of a ward school at Boulder, Colorado, and for many years taught at a business college at Spokane, Washington.
