Read More	Payette Independent (Payette, Idaho) Friday, February 08, 1907 RINGHEIM, EMMA Death of Miss Emma Ringheim Miss Emma Ringheim died Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from heart failure. She was the teacher of the seventh grade in Central school, and while she had been in poor health her immediate danger was not known until a short time before her death. Her mother and brothers and sisters were living at Long Beach, Cal., to which place they had moved since Miss Ringheim came to Payette. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church yesterday afternoon at 8 o'clock, Rev. McCoard officiating. The remains were then shipped to Nevada, Ia., the former home of the family. From the Grinnell Review 1907 (page 83) 1892 Emma Christine Ringheim was born at Nevada, Iowa, November 29, 1869, and died of pneumonia at Payette, Idago, February 5, 1907. She graduated from the literary course of Iowa College in 1892, but received the degree of Bachelor of Philosophy in 1896. After graduation, Miss Ringheim taught for one year in Lutheran Academy, Madison, Minnesota, and for three years commencing with 1893, in the public schools of Minneapolis. In 1896 she wen to Germany, where she remained, with one visit home for a few months, until the fall of 1905. During these nine years she was engaged in the study of German literature, though she spent her vacations travelling in the various parts of Europe. Last fall she went to Payette to teach and she continued in the service there until a few days before her death. She had just resigned her position because of poor health, and was making arrangements to spend the remainder of the winter with her sister, Mrs. W. H. Newman, '89, in Long Beach, California, when stricken down. The end came so suddenly that none of the family were able to be present. The body was brought to Nevada for burial. Following is the expression of members of the Class of 1892: The members of the Class of 1892, Iowa College, wish to express their deep sense of loss in the death of classmate, Miss Emma Ringheim. Her cheerful disposition and attractive personality won for her the admiration of all who knew her. Miss Ringheim's scholarly attainments, acquired through years of study both in Iowa College and abroad, had fitted her for a wide field of usefulness, and in her untimely death the world suffers a notable loss.
