Description	:	Emma, daughter of Henry and Mary Creighton, was born October 20, 1884 on a farm near Tamora and passed away at the hospital in Seward Saturday, May 12, 1956 at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 22 days. She moved with the family to Seward when she was 5 years of age and there she attended the 12 years of elementary and high school. She furthered her education at the Peru State Teachers College and taught 4 years in the public schools of Seward county. She was then employed at the Post Office at Seward about 4 years. April... Read More	Emma, daughter of Henry and Mary Creighton, was born October 20, 1884 on a farm near Tamora and passed away at the hospital in Seward Saturday, May 12, 1956 at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 22 days. She moved with the family to Seward when she was 5 years of age and there she attended the 12 years of elementary and high school. She furthered her education at the Peru State Teachers College and taught 4 years in the public schools of Seward county. She was then employed at the Post Office at Seward about 4 years. April 10, 1910 she was united in marriage to Charles Findley at her home in Seward. They located on a farm northeast of Milford where they remained for a period of time. To this union five children were born, four sons and one daughter, Maynard of Albion, Kenneth of Seward, Pauline, Mrs. E. E. Wood, of Downey, California, Leland, who died in the service of his country September 10, 1944 and Eldon of Lincoln. The family continued to farm and located not far from Beaver Crossing and in 1931 they moved from the farm and into Beaver Crossing, where they have since made their home. In early life she united in membership with the Methodist church in Seward, teaching a Sunday School class while yet in her youth and sang in the choir for many years. She later transferred her membership to Milford and from Milford with members of her family to the Beaver Crossing Methodist church May 5, 1925 under the ministry of Rev. F. E. Frum. She continued to be active in the church, working as an officer in the Woman's Society of Christian Service at the time of her passing. Mrs. Findley was a member of the Homemakers, The American Legion Auxiliary and she was a Gold Star Mother. She was a friendly person and enjoyed her family and friends very much. She leaves her husband, four children and their families, 12 grandchildren, one brother Harrison of Arkansas, nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, May 15, at Beaver Crossing Methodist church, by Rev. E. B. Stewart, pastor. Burial at Seward.
