Description	:	Emma Werre Emma Werre, 90, Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Bismarck, died May 9, 2009, in Arizona. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at First Lutheran Church, 800 N. Seventh St., Bismarck, with the Rev. Marv Mutzenberger officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Emma was born July 16, 1918, in Lincoln Valley, one of 12 children born to Johan and Margaretha (Hausauer) Dockter. After the death of her mother, Emma helped raise her younger siblings until an opportunity took her to the west coast, where she worked for the Hunt family until returning to North Dakota to marry her partner of 64 years, Albert Werre. Emma was an excellent helpmate to her husband, and together, they raised four children and built four of their five homes. Emma took much pride in her homes and in her children. In their early retirement years, she and Albert would winter in Arizona returning to North Dakota or Minnesota for the summers. Later, as Albert's health failed, Emma cared for Albert in their Arizona home until his death in 2002. Emma enjoyed dancing, playing cards, fishing, playing Bingo, making quilts and afghans and entertaining family. Emma is survived by her sister, Ruth Toner, Oceanside, Wash.; her four children, Sandra (Charles) Tebelius, Ogema, Minn., Roger (Patricia) Werre, Mesa, Randall (Elizabeth) Werre, Pensacola, Fla., and Rick Werre, Oregon, Wis.; her eight grandchildren, Lara and Marc Tebelius, Robert Werre and Roshelle Neal, Ted and Chris Werre and Jon and Jeff Werre; and six great-grandchildren, Emerald, Kyle, Maura, Faith, Morgan and Bailey. In addition to her husband, Albert; she was preceded in death by her nine brothers, John, Ed, Gottlieb, Jake, Reinhold, Rudolph, David, Arnold and Albert; and one sister, Annie Trautman.
