She came to Boone county with her family as a child and lived west of Loretto where she grew up and attended school. She was one of 12 children. She was married in Albion Oct. 3, 1900 to William H. Cummings and they had 7 children. Mrs. Cummings was a member of Albion Congregation church many years. She also was a member of the Royal Neighbors, the Loyal Ladies, and the Rebekahs. Surviving are 2 brothers, John and Sam both of California, sons and daughters, Frank of Omaha, Henry of Medford, Ore., Minnie (Mrs. Herman Krohn) of Omaha, Robert of Madison, and Thomas of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
