Description	:	Emma Garrett, daughter of James and Margaret Hill Garrett, was born November 10, 1855 in Holmes County, Ohio. At the age of seven she moved with her parents to Wisconsin where they lived for two years. In 1865 the family came to Nebraska when the state was still a territory. They settled in Cass county. In 1872 they came to Seward county. The following year Emma Garrett was married to Myron Gannon. To this union five children were born, one of whom, Mrs. Nellie May Barrick, died in April, 1936. At the age of seven she moved with her parents to Wisconsin where they lived for two years. In 1865 the family came to Nebraska when the state was still a territory. They settled in Cass county. In 1872 they came to Seward county. The following year Emma Garrett was married to Myron Gannon. To this union five children were born, one of whom, Mrs. Nellie May Barrick, died in April, 1936. Mr. Gannon died in Aurora in 1924. After having been a resident of Hamilton county for 21 years, Mrs. Gannon died early Friday morning, July 23, 1937 at her home in Aurora. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Aurora and was a woman possessing a fine Christian character. She is survived by four sons, George Wilson Gannon of Aurora, Myron Edison Gannon of Giltner, James Bartholomew Gannon of Giltner, and Raymond Garrett Gannon of Omaha; also seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. One sister still lives, Mrs. Maggie Luke of Cushing, Oklahoma. The remains were brought to Seward for burial in the Seward (north) cemetery, July 25, 1937.
