She was the wife of Douglas E. Horine, who died in 1982. Born March 31, 1912, in Boyds, she was a daughter of the late John and Sarah White Umstead. Mrs. Horine was a graduate of Rockville High School and Strayer Business College. She and her late husband owned a feed and fertilizer store in Bucklodge and later sold real estate. Surviving are two daughters, Sarah H. Marcinak, and Peggy H. Kingsbury and husband Roland, all of Dickerson; four grandchildren, Audry Shawver of Boyds, Susan Ketron and husband Larry of Union Bridge, and Colleen Dronenburg and husband Steve, and Roland Kingsbury Jr. and wife Julie, all of Dickerson; and three great-grandchildren, Emma Shawver, and Ashley and Stephanie Dronenburg. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 22, at the gravesite in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville. The Rev. Merritt Ednie, pastor of Boyds Presbyterian Church, will officiate. There will be no hours of visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Resident Activities Fund, 56 W. Frederick St., Walkersville, Md. 21793.
