Description	:	Emma Ida (Asche) Borgman, of Lincoln, Nebraska (formerly of Holdrege), passed away, March 17, 2007, at Haven Manor in Lincoln. Emma was born on July 10, 1910 in Harlan County, the youngest of six children of David and Louise (Schluntz) Asche. She grew up in the Republican City and Huntley area and was both baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Republican City. Read More	Emma Ida (Asche) Borgman, of Lincoln, Nebraska (formerly of Holdrege), passed away, March 17, 2007, at Haven Manor in Lincoln. Emma was born on July 10, 1910 in Harlan County, the youngest of six children of David and Louise (Schluntz) Asche. She grew up in the Republican City and Huntley area and was both baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Republican City. Emma received her primary education in a rural school near the family farm and then attended Huntley High School, graduating with the class of 1929. She pursued higher education and received her General Elementary State Certificate from Kearney State Teacher's College in the early 1930s. Emma then taught in a rural school eight miles south of Wilcox, Nebraska. While she was teaching, she met her future husband, Wilhelm "Bill" Borgman. The couple was united in marriage on November 7, 1934, and to this union one child, Sharon, was born. They engaged in farming 1.5 miles from the school where Emma taught. After 42 years of farming, Bill and Emma retired in 1976 and moved into Holdrege. They observed their 61st wedding anniversary before Bill's passing in 1995. Emma continued to live in Holdrege until 1997 when she moved to Lincoln. In May of 2004, she moved to assisted living at Haven Manor where she continued to reside until her passing. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Lieske of Lincoln; two granddaughters: Carmella Lieske and her husband, Scott Menking, of Matsue, Japan, and Dana and her husband, Marco Buchbinder, of London, England; and one great-grandson, MJ Buchbinder of London. Besides her husband, Bill, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
