Description	:	Mrs. Emma J Hunter was born February 12, 1870 at Dilley, Oregon and passed away at her Spring Creek home in Oregon on February 19, 1948 at the age of 78 years and 7 days. She was the daughter of James and Charlotte Bullack, who crossed the plains by ox team in 1864 and settled in the Willamette Valley, coming to Klickitat Valley in 1878. Mrs. Hunter's father was a circuit-rider in the Willamette Valley and in the Klickitat Valley. The country was unfenced and covered with bunch grass when the family came here. Read More	Mrs. Emma J Hunter was born February 12, 1870 at Dilley, Oregon and passed away at her Spring Creek home in Oregon on February 19, 1948 at the age of 78 years and 7 days. She was the daughter of James and Charlotte Bullack, who crossed the plains by ox team in 1864 and settled in the Willamette Valley, coming to Klickitat Valley in 1878. Mrs. Hunter's father was a circuit-rider in the Willamette Valley and in the Klickitat Valley. The country was unfenced and covered with bunch grass when the family came here. Mrs. Hunter was united in marriage to Edward Bates Hunter on December 1, 1887. They celebrated their golden wedding on the homestead they carved out of the wilderness and where she had lived continuously for over 50 years. Mr. Hunter passed away in May of 1943. Mrs. Hunter was a member of the Baptist church for over 50 years and was always ready to help in sickness or trouble. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Edith Horn of Wishram, Washington, two sons, Ralph of Goldendale, Washington, and Ted of Sheridan, Oregon. One son preceded her in death. There are several grandchildren and great grand children as well as other relatives. From out of town to attend her funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Bates Coffield of Spokane, Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kriss and son of Portland, Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hunter and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Faber of Portland, Oregon. Mrs. Merle W. Chapman of Prosser, Washington, Miss Effie Bullack of Waldport, Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Bullack of Hood River, Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hunter of Sheridan, Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. Claud Morrow of Yakima, Washington, Irvin Miller of Sunnyside, Oregon, and Mrs. Maggie Sterritt of Yakima, Washington.
