She was sitting on the porch of her home Monday evening at 7 o'clock sewing when she was suddenly stricken with intense pains in her side. Her husband had just arrived home and she walked to her bed thinking she would soon feel better. Dr. Mohn was called and Dr. Taylor arrived at 11 o'clock. Everything that could be done was done, but she rapidly grew worse until death relieved her. She was unconscious for several hours prior to her death. A post mortem examination revealed the fact that a blood vessel had burst and no power on earth could have saved her. Emma Tunta Holt, daughter of Iver Holt, was born near Fergus Falls, Minn., Feb. 19, 1880. Sixteen years ago she accompanied her parents to Minot. Three years ago she was married to John Strommen who with a fifteen months old baby girl survive. She leaves also father, five brothers, and three sisters. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Lutheran Synod, and the remains were laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery. She was a member of the Lutheran church and was considered a good Christian woman and loving wife. The sympathy of everyone goes out to the bereaved relatives at this their dark hour.
