Mrs. Lund had many friends and relatives in this city, who mourn deeply her loss and sympathize with the bereaved husband and family. Mrs. Lund had many friends and relatives in this city, who mourn deeply her loss and sympathize with the bereaved husband and family. Emma Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Jones, was born in Ogden February 13th, 1870, and died at her home in this city at about 6 o'clock, Thursday afternoon, May 9, 1901. She had suffered for nearly two years with that insidious disease, consumption, which at times promised recovery, then immediate dissolution. Even at the hour of death, she seemed better than for months previous. She was married to Carl Lund, July 26, 1895, and one child, Marie, now five years old is left motherless. She was confirmed to the German Lutheran church of Ogden in 1887, and died in the faith of the church. She was a loving and dutiful daughter, a helpful and kind sister and all that a wife and mother should be. Her death makes an aching void that cannot be filled. She leaves an aged father, three brothers, two sisters, a husband and little daughter to mourn their loss. The funeral exercises were held from the home, on Saturday afternoon, and conducted by Revs. Jipp of Ogden and Burkhart of Dayton, and interment was in Glenwood.
