Thompson, was born in Council Grove, Kansas, April 17, 1920, and passed away at her home March 9, 1941, aged 20 years, 10 months and 22 days She was educated in the Council Grove schools, graduating from High School with the class of 1938. She then went to Kansas City where she took a course in dramatics at the Kansas City Conservatory. Read More	The Council Grove Republican, 02 Apr 1941, Wednesday OBITUARY Emma Joyce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Thompson, was born in Council Grove, Kansas, April 17, 1920, and passed away at her home March 9, 1941, aged 20 years, 10 months and 22 days She was educated in the Council Grove schools, graduating from High School with the class of 1938. She then went to Kansas City where she took a course in dramatics at the Kansas City Conservatory. Besides making several appearances in Kansas City she traveled in the east with a group from the conservatory. Their itinerary included Richmond and Newport News, Virginia; Clarksburg, West Virginia; Knoxville, Tennessee; Charleston, South Carolina. Just before her illness at the beginning of winter, she signed a contract with a Chicago Dramatic company. As a child she attended the Christian Sunday school and on April 19, 1934 she united with that church by baptism. She was a beautiful girl both in appearance and character. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Thompson, two brothers, Roger and Bradley; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Patterson; three uncles, F. W. Patterson, J. U. Thompson, and E. C. Thompson, all of this city. * She is not dead -- the child of our affection -- But gone into that school Where she no longer needs our poor protection; And Christ himself doth rule. Day after day we think what she is doing In those bright realms of air; Year after year, her tender steps pursuing -- Behold her, grown more fair. * CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank each person sunshine pals and all for every kind thought, deed, card, gift, flower, and everything that gave cheer and pleasure, and comfort to our darling during her illness and for the beautiful flowers and lovely tributes given at her death.--Mr. and Mrs. R.
