She was born on April 10, 1925 at Windthorst, Kansas the daughter of Albert and Emma Mary (Droste) Hornung. She grew up at Windthorst and graduated from Windthorst High School in 1942. On September 30, 1946 she married Robert L. Issinghoff at Windthorst. They moved to the Issinghoff homestead near Windthorst and lived there until 1990 when they moved to Spearville. Read More	SPEARVILLE - Emma Lauris Issinghoff, 83, died Friday, December 12, 2008 at her residence at Spearville. She was born on April 10, 1925 at Windthorst, Kansas the daughter of Albert and Emma Mary (Droste) Hornung. She grew up at Windthorst and graduated from Windthorst High School in 1942. On September 30, 1946 she married Robert L. Issinghoff at Windthorst. They moved to the Issinghoff homestead near Windthorst and lived there until 1990 when they moved to Spearville. Mr. Issinghoff died on August 25, 2001. Mrs. Issinghoff worked with the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture and the USDA as a supervisory enumerator and enumerator for over 30 years for the state of Kansas. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella of Spearville. Survivors include two sons; Giles Issinghoff and wife Teresa of Wright, and Dr. Chad Issinghoff and wife Debbie of Hutchinson; a daughter, Lydia Salmans and husband Keith of Ulysses; a sister, Zelma Knoeber of Dodge City; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Kyle Issinghoff, and four brothers; Julius, Chester, Clem and Swidbert Hornung. Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be held at 4 PM Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Spearville, The Parish Vigil will be held at the church on Tuesday December 16, 2008 at 7 PM, and the Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday December 17, 2008 at 10 AM at the church with Rev. Ted Stoecklein as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Windthorst. There will be no public visitation, and the casket will remain closed. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Windthorst Heritage Foundation or to the Spearville Senior Center both in care of Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City.
