Description	:	Emma Los Ventling, 86, of Cherokee, Iowa and former longtime Corydon, Iowa resident, passed away Wednesday, March 7th at 1 p.m. in the Buena Vista County Hospital of Storm Lake, Iowa following a sudden illness. She was born on August 19, 1914 at Saline, Missouri to Robert and Sarah (Hall) Leeper. She attended Willis School. She was married to Orville Ventling on April 3, 1937 at Davis City, Iowa. She was born on August 19, 1914 at Saline, Missouri to Robert and Sarah (Hall) Leeper. She attended Willis School. She was married to Orville Ventling on April 3, 1937 at Davis City, Iowa. She was a housewife and had worked as a cook in the Corydon School system for 12 years. She then as a Corsetiere for the Spencer Inc. Company for 30 years. She had lived with her daughter in Cherokee the past five years and prior to this lived in Corydon from 1942 - 1996. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was a 50 year member of the Royal Neighbors and the Rebekah Lodge. She ad served as Treasurer of the Wayne County Historical Society for 20 years and did countless hours of volunteer work. She enjoyed piecing and making quilts, loved to cook and was an avid bridge player. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orville in 1989, 4 brothers, five sisters , 1 half brother and half sister. She is survived by one daughter Karen Frye and her husband Richard of Cherokee, Iowa, one granddaughter Nicole Lebahn and her husband Gene of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, two great grandchildren Matthew James and Emma Marie ; many step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
