Lewis, 78, a former Ottumwan, died Wedneday at 8:15 a.m., in Burbank, Calif., following a lengthy illness. She was born Feb. 18, 1884, in Corydon, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Murphy McIntire. Lewis, 78, a former Ottumwan, died Wedneday at 8:15 a.m., in Burbank, Calif., following a lengthy illness. She was born Feb. 18, 1884, in Corydon, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Murphy McIntire. She lived in Ottumwa for 45 years prior to moving to California 14 years ago. Her marriage to Thomas E. Lewis took place at Corydon on Feb. 18, 1903. He survives. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Baptist Church. She also leaves two sons, Lawrence L. Lewis of Burlington and Harold T. Lewis of Los Angeles; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Macy of Burbank, Calif.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren John C. Luke of Ottumwa, a nephew, was reared in the home. Three sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren preceded her in death. The service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Johnson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Paul Williams of the Finley Avenue Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. The casket will arrive here Monday morning.
