Description	:	Emma Louise Craven, daughter of George and Agnes Horne Craven, was born August 11, 1892, in Exeter, Neb. In 1903 the family moved to Summerfield, Kas., where Emma graduated from high school in 1912. She attended Kansas State Normal School at Emporia, following which she taught in rural school and in the grade school in Summerfield. In 1914 her mother died and she kept house for her father and the younger children until they were through school. Read More	Emma Louise Craven, daughter of George and Agnes Horne Craven, was born August 11, 1892, in Exeter, Neb. In 1903 the family moved to Summerfield, Kas., where Emma graduated from high school in 1912. She attended Kansas State Normal School at Emporia, following which she taught in rural school and in the grade school in Summerfield. In 1914 her mother died and she kept house for her father and the younger children until they were through school. She entered Lincoln School of Commerce in July, 1919, and a short time later began work for Nebraska Buick Auto Co. in Lincoln, which later became the Sidles Company. When the firm's offices were moved to Omaha, she moved there and was chief accounts receivable bookkeeper. When she retired in February, 1960, with more than 40 years of service to the firm, she was the oldest Sidles employee in years of service. She was a member of Fontanelle Chapter No. 249, Order of the Eastern Star, the Women's Division of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce, the Dundee Presbyterian Church of Omaha, and the business and Professional Women's Club of Lincoln. Following her retirement, she lived in Omaha until 1964, when she moved to the Good Samaritan Village in Hastings. She suffered a heart attack October 16, 1965, but recovered from that and continued to live at the Village until February, 1968, when she suffered a stroke, and was hospitalized. Recently she had moved from the nursing home portion of the Village to Memory Manor in Exeter. She died Saturday evening, August 3, 1968, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lincoln, where she had been for three days. She is survived by two brothers, Harry of Summerfield, Kas., and Earl of Topeka, Kas.; two sisters, Mrs. A. A. (Bessie) Tarr of Norfolk and Mrs. H. S. (Ruth) Springer of Exeter and a number of nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, an infant brother and one sister, Fannie. funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, August 6, from the Farmer Funeral Home in Exeter. Officiating were Rev. Robert Peters of Exeter and Rev. Lloyd Jackson of Hastings. The soloist, Wallace Menzie of Hastings, was accompanied by Mrs. Edward Votipka, organist. Pallbearers were Don and Jack Tarr, Milo and Hoby Springer, Warren Dickey and Gayle Goering. Burial was in the Exeter Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 15 August 1968
