Description	:	Emma Shoop was born in Newfoundland, Canada, Nov. 15, 1942, and died at Schaller, Iowa, May 23, 1927, at the age of 85 yrs. 6 months, 8 days. Burial was in the Ida Grove Cemetery, Ida County, Iowa. She was married to Samuel Pack in the year 1866. Soon after their marriage, they came from Newfoundland to this country, living for various intervals in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and several other midwestern states. Burial was in the Ida Grove Cemetery, Ida County, Iowa. She was married to Samuel Pack in the year 1866. Soon after their marriage, they came from Newfoundland to this country, living for various intervals in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and several other midwestern states. To this union, 6 children were born, 3 girls and 3 boys. In the year 1885, her husband died at Sioux City Iowa. She faithfully performed her family duties until her children were grown and away from home, and remarried on Feb. 10, 1915, and soon there after came to live in Arthur as Mrs. George Shoop. They were married at Allison, Iowa. Here the aged couple lived together for 12 years, spending their remaining years together, each a comfort to the other. Last summer, because of old age and broken health, they decided to spend the winter with the children and relatives. They went to Ida Grove. She spent some time in Sioux City, and later went to Schaller, Iowa, to visit her daughter, Mrs. Emma Brown. It was while visiting there that her final sickness overcame her and she passed away peacefully. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, George shoop, who is at present very ill; 6 children, Mrs. Sarah Clouse of Galva, Iowa; Robert E. Pack of Sioux City, Iowa; Samuel and Alfred Pack of North Dakota; Mrs. Emma Brown of Schaller; Mrs. Sophie Aukes of Allison, Iowa; 30 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
