Emma was born Aug. 26, 1924, to Donald Orville and Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Laird Warner in Milford. Emma had one sister, Betty Raush; and two brothers, Wayne and Roy, who are both deceased. Read More	JUNCTION CITY -- Emma Louise Warren passed away at Bethany Nursing Home, Lindsborg, Sunday, April 10, 2011. Emma was born Aug. 26, 1924, to Donald Orville and Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Laird Warner in Milford. Emma had one sister, Betty Raush; and two brothers, Wayne and Roy, who are both deceased. She lived most of her life in Junction City, where she graduated high school in 1942, and, soon after, married. In July 1942, she married Francis Haden and had three children, Terry, Larry and Jerri. Terry and wife Ann have two children, Scott and Andrea. Larry and wife Jan have two children, Sarah and Cory. Jerri and husband Steve have six children, Danielle, Nicole, Andrew, Marty, Steven and Nathan. She is also survived by a grandson, John Robert Pinnick; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She and Francis divorced in 1968, and, in 1970, she married Roger Warren. Both Francis and Roger are deceased. Emma worked at Fort Riley for 23 years and Wardrobe Cleaners in Junction City for 13 years. She lived at the Bicentennial Manor of Junction City, where she served as manager of that facility for three years. She then left Kansas to live in Baudette, Minn., to be near Jerri while her children were small. When she returned to Kansas, she became involved in the Foster Grandparent Program, where she served for eight years, working first in Westwood Elementary School, in Junction City, and in Grace Stewart Elementary School, in Salina. The program is designed to have grandparent-age adults work with students who need assistance in reading, math and other studies. All the students and teachers loved having Emma in the classroom. Many times when she was out in the community, a small person would come running up to her to give "Grandma Emma" a hug. Emma was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a charter member of DAV. Funeral services for Emma Louise Warren, 86, of Junction City, will be at 10 a.m., Friday, April 15, with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been designated to the Bethany Home, 321 N. Chestnut Street, Lindsborg 67456, and Hospice of Salina, 730 Holly Lane, Salina, 67401.
